YIS and OK Oce Empower 40 Female Entrepreneurs in Bogor
Founder of Yayasan Indonesia Setara (YIS), Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, has invited small and medium enterprise (UMKM) actors to level up and create new job opportunities. This encouragement was conveyed during the ‘Inkubasi Perempuan Berdaya Naik Kelas’ programme themed Workshop on Edamame Processing in Bogor, West Java. The programme, which has been running since 14 April 2026, was attended by around 40 female business actors from the Greater Bogor area. The training is a collaboration between Yayasan Indonesia Setara and OK Oce Gan. Sandiaga explained that the business incubation programme is not limited to skills training but is also designed as a job creation engine based on UMKM. He emphasised that the success of the incubation programme must be measured by the economic impact produced, including the participants’ ability to create sustainable businesses. ‘What we are pursuing is social impact and shared growth. From small businesses that level up, new job opportunities will emerge in the community,’ said Sandiaga in a press statement in Jakarta on Sunday (19/4/2026). In the programme, participants were not only trained in producing edamame-based products, such as mochi, steamed sponge cake, and milk, but also equipped with comprehensive business skills. Starting from business management, product packaging, branding, to digital marketing, these are important components to ensure businesses can develop and be competitive. According to Sandiaga, the incubation approach is carried out comprehensively so that participants are ready to become independent business actors. After the products are formed, participants are also assisted in handling business legality such as obtaining a Business Identification Number (NIB) and halal certification to expand the market while increasing consumer confidence. ‘This programme is also directed so that participants are able to develop businesses to create new job opportunities around them. With product diversification strategies and mastery of marketplaces, UMKM are expected not only to survive but also to grow,’ said Sandiaga.
