Yili Showcases Joyday's Journey in Indonesia Through Global Virtual Tour
Through this virtual tour, Yili narrates the story of Joyday ice cream, which has successfully brought joy to the people of Indonesia via an integrated production and distribution network. As part of its annual global programme, ‘Taste the World with Yili and Discover a Better Life 2026’, Yili Group launched the Indonesia edition, featuring a new video on Joyday’s journey and its efforts to optimise local production and distribution networks to deliver high-quality products to Southeast Asian consumers. Joyday has become a widely recognised ice cream brand in Indonesia, reaching all 38 provinces. To uncover the secret behind Yili’s product popularity and freshness, the virtual tour follows local content creator couple William and Reysa. Their journey begins at a busy neighbourhood shop, where they witness Joyday being one of the fastest-selling items. From there, they trace the distribution chain, from the shop owner to the courier, before meeting Onaki Murti, a Joyday distributor who is a vital part of Yili’s network in Indonesia. ‘The key lies in the quality of distribution. We implement the storage standards from PT Yili Indonesia with discipline,’ Murti said. ‘By applying these standards, wherever Joyday is purchased, the quality and taste remain consistent. We also ensure smooth distribution so that the product is more accessible and increasingly in demand. These efforts also benefit us as local partners.’ Beyond its popularity as an everyday treat, Joyday reflects Yili’s long-term commitment to the Indonesian economy. Since 2021, the Yili Indonesia Dairy production facility has served as Joyday’s main manufacturing hub in the region. The factory, Yili’s first self-built facility in Southeast Asia, produces dozens of Joyday variants to meet domestic demand while also supplying markets across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. Adhering to the corporate principle ‘No Innovation, No Future’, Yili continuously develops products tailored to local tastes and consumer needs. This commitment has earned global recognition, with Joyday’s chocolate lava-coated ice cream product—featured in the virtual tour video—winning the ‘Best Ice Cream’ award at the World Dairy Innovation Awards 2025, further strengthening Joyday’s position as a leading ice cream product in the region. Through this virtual tour, Yili reaffirms its commitment to expanding its reach in Indonesia and other international markets by combining global resources with deep local market insights to deliver innovative, high-quality dairy products that bring joyful experiences to families worldwide.
