Yili Launches AI-Powered Comic Series to Visualise Dairy Supply Chain Transparency at China Expo
Yili Group, a leading dairy company, launched the country’s first AI-powered comic series at the fourth China International Supply Chain Expo in Beijing, aiming to visualise the transparency of its supply chain. Developed in collaboration with the China Agricultural Film and Television Center, the series, titled ‘The Full Chain Alliance: Enora’s Super Adventure’, uses generative AI to depict the journey of Yili’s supply chain from pasture to glass. This approach transforms previously invisible processes into an accessible story designed to build emotional connection with the public. The launch was attended by the Deputy Secretary for China Relations from New Zealand’s Ministry for Primary Industries, alongside Yili’s Vice President Zhang Yipeng and Yang Chaoqun. The New Zealand official praised the use of AI for bringing the dairy industry’s value chain journey to life, allowing the public to understand behind-the-scenes production processes for the first time. Featuring Yili’s mascot, Enora, the series is divided into three chapters: ‘Empowering Farms’, ‘Making Manufacturing Smarter’, and ‘Expanding Global Reach’. It turns technical quality data into a compelling narrative. ‘The supply chain is often invisible to the public,’ said Yili Vice President Yang Chaoqun. ‘Through generative AI, we want to tell the story of the hard work of our partners across the dairy ecosystem. This approach reflects our belief that every stage of the supply chain grows through collaboration.’ As a key driver in the dairy value chain, Yili enforces strict quality standards to elevate the entire industry. Upstream, it runs partnership programmes providing financing, technology, and risk-sharing schemes for farmers, ensuring fresh milk quality surpasses European Union standards. Downstream, Yili operates 77 highly automated factories globally, including a smart liquid dairy manufacturing centre capable of processing 6,500 tonnes of fresh milk daily. Yili products are now marketed in over 80 countries and regions. Involving more than 2,000 partners across 39 countries on six continents, Yili continues to expand global collaboration along the dairy value chain. A fruit preservation technology co-developed with AGRANA has been implemented in over 20 of the partner’s facilities worldwide. Additionally, Yili supports the development of over one million acres of forage crop land in China. ‘A vision for creating the future, the strength of cooperation, and the principle of mutual benefit are the keys to success,’ said Yili Chairman Pan Gang. ‘With a three-decade commitment to quality, Yili will continue to work with partners across the entire value chain to realise a greener, smarter, and more sustainable future for the dairy industry.’
