- President arrives in Russia as primary guest of honour at the 11th EEF
President Prabowo Subiandum arrived at Vladivostok International Airport, Russian Federation, on Wednesday at 10:45 local time to attend as the primary guest of honour at the 11th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) at Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU). According to reports received in Jakarta on Wednesday, President Prabowo was welcomed by the Vice Governor of the Primorye Region, Said Yusupov, and the Minister of Foreign Relations of Vladivostok, Konstantin Sidorenko.
- Indonesian Ministry of Defence strengthens ties with Belarus
The Indonesian Ministry of Defence is striving to tighten bilateral relations with the government of Belarus. This was evident in the efforts of the Indonesian Minister of Defence, Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, to welcome the arrival of the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Indonesia, H.E. Dr. Raman Ramanouski, at the Ministry of Defence office in Jakarta on Wednesday.
- House Members appreciate BGN’s firm sanctions regarding student food poisoning
Member of Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Dini Rahmania, expressed appreciation for the decisive steps taken by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) in imposing sanctions on the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) following a food poisoning incident involving 512 students at the Manbaul Hikam Islamic Boarding School in Tanggulangin, Sidoarjo. The legislator, who oversees religious education affairs, stated that all sanctions must remain based on investigation results and applicable regulations. She noted that the case should serve as a serious evaluation to ensure food safety standards within the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme are strictly implemented.
- House Commission XIII requests expansion of foreign national patrols beyond Bali
The Chairman of Commission XIII of the DPR RI, Willy Aditya, has requested the Directorate General of Immigration to expand patrols regarding the presence of foreign nationals (WNA) so that they are not solely focused on Bali. According to him, patrols against ‘rogue’ foreign nationals need to be extended to regions that frequently serve as destinations for foreigners. He emphasised that such patrol efforts must be carried out firmly to ensure that Indonesia’s regulations are respected by everyone.
- House requests Ministry of Foreign Affairs to communicate consequences of joining foreign militaries
Member of Commission I of the DPR RI, TB Hasanuddin, has called upon the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to increase public socialisation regarding the consequences for Indonesian citizens (WNI) who join the militaries of foreign nations. Regarding the issue of eight Indonesian citizens joining foreign militaries, he stated that the government does not need to prepare decisions for them, but rather should use the situation as material for evaluation and learning.
