Yesterday's Politics: Nuzulul Quran Commemoration at State Palace and Government Urges Postponement of Umrah Pilgrimages

Jakarta — Various political developments unfolded on Tuesday, 10 March, ranging from the Nuzulul Quran (Night of Revelation) commemoration at the State Palace to the government recommending the postponement of umrah pilgrimages due to Middle Eastern geopolitical conflict.

President Prabowo Subianto held the State-Level Commemoration of Nuzulul Quran 1448 Hijri/2026 Gregorian at the State Palace on Wednesday evening, attended by approximately 250 guests.

Armed Forces Commander General Agus Subiyanto explained that the Alert Status Level 1 implemented across several military units constitutes part of routine operational readiness testing, particularly for units within the Natural Disaster Rapid Response Force (PRCPB).

The government has urged citizens to temporarily postpone their umrah pilgrimage departures following the escalation of conflict in the Middle Eastern region. President Prabowo Subianto summoned several ministers from the Red and White Cabinet, including Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, to attend a limited meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday afternoon, following crude oil prices exceeding 100 US dollars.
