Yesterday's news: Sugar aid review to rice stock availability
Various economic events were reported by ANTARA News Agency on Sunday (14/6), ranging from the government reviewing sugar as food aid to news on rice stock availability.
Deputy Coordinating Minister for Food Hanif Faisol Nurofiq stated that the proposal to include sugar in the food assistance programme still requires a government review, taking various aspects into comprehensive consideration. Speaking at the 2026 Nusantara Milk Day commemoration in Jakarta on Sunday, Hanif said the government continues to examine various inputs related to strengthening the food assistance programme to support national food security sustainably.
Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo revealed that the community-based infrastructure (IBM) programme in 2027 will cover 4,127 locations. “We pay special attention to community-based infrastructure. We believe IBM is very important because its impact is the closest and most directly utilised by the community, both physically and economically,” Dody said in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday.

According to a written statement from the Ministry of Agriculture received in Jakarta on Sunday, Acting Director General of Plantations at Indonesia’s Ministry of Agriculture Ali Jamil said cooperation among BRICS countries opens strategic opportunities for Indonesia to strengthen national food security through accelerating agricultural modernisation and increasing productivity.
The Public Housing Savings Management Agency (BP Tapera) recorded that the realisation of Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP) subsidised housing distribution as of 11 June 2026 had reached 77,532 housing units, or 22.15 percent of the government’s target of 350,000 units this year. BP Tapera Commissioner Heru Pudyo Nugroho said the distribution of housing financing assistance funds, or Subsidised Housing, through the FLPP scheme continues to show a positive trend.
Head of the National Food Agency and concurrently Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman asserted that the national government rice reserve stock (CBP) is in abundant condition, so there is no reason for rice scarcity in the community. “Our rice is abundant. Do not manipulate the situation on the ground because we have already asked the Task Force to go into the field. Nothing is scarce. Please, let there be no food, especially rice, our staple food, that is scarce,” Amran said in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday.
