The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) announced that former Minister of Religious Affairs and suspect in the alleged hajj quota corruption case, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas (YCQ), has been under house arrest since 19 March 2026, for the time being.
“Investigators have changed the type of detention for suspect YCQ, from detention at the KPK Branch State Detention House to house arrest, since Thursday (19 March) night,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Saturday.
Furthermore, Budi explained that Yaqut’s family requested the KPK on 17 March 2026 to change the type of detention for the hajj quota case suspect.

Head of the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Polri Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho stated that traffic on Saturday, the Eid celebration day in 2026, is under control despite high mobility.

Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Polri Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho said the peak density of local returnees is predicted to occur on Sunday (22 March) or H+1 Eid 2026.

The Directorate General of Corrections of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Ditjen Kemenkumham) granted Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah/2026 CE remission to 155,908 inmates throughout Indonesia.
The granting of remission decision letters (SK) was carried out symbolically by Dirjenpas Mashudi at the Narcotics Penitentiary in Gunung Sindur, Bogor, on Saturday.
Mashudi stated that the granting of special remission (RK) and sentence reduction (PMP) to inmates is a state commitment to providing citizens’ rights after successfully undergoing good guidance.
