- Vice President condemns sexual violence against 50 female students at Pati pesantren
Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka strongly condemned the alleged sexual violence against 50 female students at a pesantren in Pati Regency and ensured that the legal process against the perpetrators would be transparent and just.
“I strongly condemn the harassment incident against female students that occurred in Pati. Such actions cannot be tolerated. The legal process will be carried out firmly, transparently, and justly,” said Vice President Gibran in an official statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday.
- Nadiem Makarim complains of illness, Chromebook corruption trial postponed
The trial in the alleged corruption case of Chromebook procurement was postponed to Wednesday (6/5), because Nadiem Anwar Makarim, the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology for the 2019–2024 period and the defendant, complained of illness.
Public Prosecutor (JPU) from the Attorney General’s Office, Roy Riady, revealed that based on a physical examination on Tuesday morning along with laboratory results, Nadiem’s condition was within normal limits and there was no fever.
- Jimly reveals Prabowo’s directive to evaluate institutions beyond Polri
Chairman of the Commission for Accelerating Police Reform of the Republic of Indonesia (Polri), Jimly Asshiddiqie, revealed that President Prabowo Subianto directed that reforms should not only be carried out in Polri, but also cover other law enforcement institutions up to the judicial power.
Jimly explained that a comprehensive evaluation is needed for law enforcement institutions that have been running during the reform period for more than two decades.
- Receiving Green SM, Korlantas encourages collaboration to improve safety
The Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas) encouraged collaboration in improving traffic safety and transportation governance when receiving the Green SM taxi management team at the Korlantas Polri Building, Jakarta, on Tuesday.
Quoted from an official statement, the Head of Korlantas Polri, Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho, said that every accident incident must be viewed comprehensively.
- Polri reaffirms ban on personnel “live streaming” while on duty
The Indonesian National Police (Polri) reaffirmed the prohibition for all its personnel to conduct live streaming on social media while on duty to maintain professionalism and the institution’s image in the public sphere.
“This reaffirmation is to build collective awareness so that Polri members wisely use social media while maintaining and enhancing the institution’s image, credibility, and reputation in a responsible, professional, proportional, and procedural manner,” said the Head of Public Relations Division of Polri, Inspector General of Police Johnny Eddizon Isir, in a statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday.
