President Prabowo Subianto enjoyed a special Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) lunch with students of Sekolah Rakyat Menengah Pertama (SRMP) 17 Tabanan, Bali, during a school visit on Sunday. According to the Government Communications Agency (Bakom) of Indonesia, the event took place after the President delivered a speech to students and parents. One student even led a formal report to the President, announcing that lunch was ready to be served.

During his visit, President Prabowo emphasised that education is the primary key to achieving public welfare across all sectors. According to the Presidential Secretariat, the President stressed that human resource development must be comprehensive, involving improved quality of education and training for all levels of society, including farmers, teachers, and nurses.

The President’s arrival at the school was marked by traditional Balinese welcomes, including student cheers and a Kecak dance performance.

In political developments, the Vice Chairman of the Confederation of All Indonesian Workers’ Unions (KSPSI), Arnod Sihite, welcomed reports that President Prabowo may appoint Said Iqbal, President of the Indonesian Confederation of Trade Unions (KSPI), to the Red and White Cabinet. Arnod described the move as a strategic decision to help the President find solutions to national challenges through the inclusion of labour leaders in the government.

Additionally, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, stated that the Presidential Layoff Mitigation Task Force is set to hold meetings soon. The task force aims to discuss regions heavily impacted by recent mass layoffs (PHK) and implement mitigation strategies.
