Minister of Trade opens possibility to amend e-commerce rules following developments
The Minister of Trade, Budi Santoso, has opened the possibility of further amending electronic commerce or e-commerce regulations to keep pace with developments and needs within the digital trade ecosystem. Budi stated that the Ministry of Trade has updated the provisions for trade through electronic systems (PMSE) via Minister of Trade Regulation (Permendag) Number 19 of 2026.
Minister of Agriculture ensures counterfeiters of fortified rice will face legal action
The Minister of Agriculture, Andi Amran Sulaiman, has ensured that perpetrators of fortified rice counterfeiting will be prosecuted, following the 102 food mafia suspects previously identified by authorities in a premium rice adulteration case last year. “This fortified rice case is the second chapter in the hunt for rent-seeking in food trade, after in 2025 authorities ensnared 102 suspects in the premium rice adulteration case which cost consumers Rp98 trillion,” Amran confirmed in Jakarta on Thursday.
Ijen Ekspres Train delayed after collision with car in Jember
The journey of the Ijen Ekspres train on the Malang-Ketapang route experienced delays due to a collision with a white car (registration number P 1236 HY), resulting in the death of the driver, Yusril Nur Ibnu (21), while being transported to the Bangsalsari Health Centre, Jember Regency, East Java, on Thursday. “The collision involving train KA 239F (Ijen Ekspres) on the Malang–Ketapang route with a car occurred on the Tanggul – Bangsalsari section, specifically at KM 173+060 around 12:05 WIB,” said the Legal and Public Relations Manager of Daop 9 Jember, Cahyo Widiantoro.
Haji Isam prepared to purchase 10 billion shares or 30 per cent stake in Bayan
Andi Syamsuddin Arsyad, also known as Haji Isam, through his company PT Jhonlin Baratama, has signed a conditional share purchase agreement with Low Tuck Kwong and Elaine Low, the majority shareholders of PT Bayan Resources Tbk (BYAN). The conditional share purchase agreement relates to the planned transfer of 10,000,000,500—or ten billion five hundred million—common shares, equivalent to a 30 per cent ownership stake in BYAN, to Jhonlin Baratama.
Bahlil: Fuel shortages in Makassar have been resolved
The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, stated that the fuel shortage issue that recently occurred in Makassar, South Sulawesi, has been resolved and supply conditions have stabilised. “What happened yesterday in Makassar, Alhamdulillah, has been resolved and completed, and I have reported this to the President,” Bahlil said at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Thursday.
