**KPK Questions Telkomsel General Manager in Bank EDC Machine Case**

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) questioned a General Manager of PT Telkomsel, identified by the initials NA, as a witness in the investigation of alleged corruption in the procurement of electronic data capture (EDC) machines at PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI Persero) during the 2020–2024 period.

"The questioning took place at the KPK's Red and White Building, of NA in their capacity as GM of Telkomsel," said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Friday.

**Police Chief: Train Accident Caused by Container Body Left on Tracks**

A traffic accident between a train on the Manggarai–Soekarno-Hatta Airport route and a container truck at the railway crossing near Poris Station in Tangerang City was caused by the container body being left on the tracks as the train passed.

Tangerang City Metro Police Chief Senior Commissioner Raden Muhammad Jauhari said in Tangerang on Friday that the incident occurred at 06.05 Western Indonesian Time on Friday (20 February), when a container truck travelling from Cipondoh towards Daan Mogot attempted to cross the railway crossing in the Poris Station area.

As the truck crossed, the cab had already cleared the tracks. However, the container body remained on the railway tracks. At the same time, a train departing from Manggarai towards Soekarno-Hatta Airport was approaching the crossing.

**National Police Criminal Investigation Unit Seizes PT Dana Syariah Indonesia Office Assets**

The Directorate of Special Economic Crimes at the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim Polri) seized office assets belonging to PT Dana Syariah Indonesia (DSI) in connection with alleged fraud and money laundering offences.

Director of Special Economic Crimes Brigadier General Ade Safri Simanjuntak said in Jakarta on Friday that the seizures were carried out on Wednesday (18 February) and Thursday (19 February).

On Wednesday, he revealed, investigators seized two PT DSI office units (Units A and J) located in District 8, Prosperity Tower, 12th Floor, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Central Jakarta.

**Explosion Occurs During Firecracker Production in Kertek, Wonosobo**

An explosion occurred during a firecracker manufacturing process in the Pandansari area, Kertek Sub-district, Wonosobo Regency, Central Java.

Kertek Police Chief Inspector Sutono said in Wonosobo on Friday that the incident, which occurred at approximately 23.30 Western Indonesian Time, left a young man identified by the initials FR with burns and lacerations to several parts of his body.

Based on witness statements, the incident began around 23.00 on Thursday when the victim FR and a witness identified as AR purchased firecracker powder in Siono Hamlet, Bojasari Village, Kertek District.

**Attorney General's Office: Defendants Facing Death Penalty Knew They Were Carrying Narcotics on Ship**

The Attorney General's Office stated that six defendants facing the death penalty in a methamphetamine smuggling case involving approximately two tonnes of the drug in Riau Islands waters were aware they were carrying narcotics on board the vessel.

"They were aware that they received approximately 67 packages, or around two tonnes of methamphetamine, in the middle of the sea," said Head of the Attorney General's Legal Information Centre Anang Supriatna at the Legal Information Centre Building in Jakarta on Friday.

Furthermore, he revealed that the defendants knew that some of the methamphetamine was stored in the bow of the ship whilst the remainder was kept near the engine room.
