Yesterday's Headlines: Bekasi Truck Accident and Rejection of Pati Regent's Exception

A truck accident at the Unisma Campus intersection in East Bekasi, Bekasi City, on Monday morning resulted in one fatality and nine injuries. The police identified the deceased as Sukanta, a 42-year-old online motorcycle taxi driver. The accident involved a wing box truck and several motorcycles.

The Ministry of Immigration and Corrections is collaborating with the Ministry of Health to tackle the spread of tuberculosis in prisons and detention centres across Indonesia. Minister Agus Andrianto and Minister Budi Gunawan Sadikin reviewed the national kick-off for TB screening and free health checks for inmates at the Class IIA Ngaseman Prison in Nusakambangan, Cilacap, Central Java.

The panel of judges ruled that the KPK prosecutor’s consolidation of two cases did not violate the Criminal Procedure Code and aligned with the principles of a simple, speedy, and low-cost trial.

The Constitutional Court, through its legal considerations in Decision Number 195/PUU-XXIV/2026, affirmed that regional head elections will continue to be conducted directly by the people.
