Jakarta (ANTARA) - A number of criminal incidents and security matters that occurred in the DKI Jakarta area on Wednesday (16/9) remain noteworthy today, ranging from investigations into fake job vacancies in South Jakarta to the smuggling of illegal peanuts.
Police investigate fake job vacancies demanding money in Kebayoran Lama
The police are investigating a company suspected of opening fake job vacancies because applicants were required to pay a certain amount of money before being accepted for work in the Kebaylagan Lama area, South Jakarta.
“There are two complaints. The first is that the company is not registered. Currently, we are investigating the main company, Sancara, and it is under examination,” said Kebayoran Lama Police Chief, Kompol Seala Syah Alam, during a press conference at the Kebayoran Lama Police Station, South Jakarta, on Wednesday.
Serial thefts occur at a restaurant in the Palmerah area, West Jakarta
Serial thefts involving helmets and motorcycles occurred in close succession at a fast-food restaurant in the Kemanggisan area, Palmerah, West Jakarta.
The restaurant owner, Rivaldi, stated that the theft of a customer’s motorcycle initially occurred in the early hours of Sunday (13/9). Later that afternoon, a helmet belonging to another customer was also stolen.
Police investigate alleged molestation of two children in East Jakarta
The Criminal Investigation Unit for the Protection of Women and Children (PPA) of the East Jakarta Metro Police is handling a case of alleged molestation of two minors that occurred in the Cipinang Cempedak area, Jatinegara, East Jakarta.
East Jakarta Metro Police Public Relations Chief, AKP Made Budi, stated that the suspect, identified by the initials YAB (49), was briefly detained and targeted by a mob of local residents before being evacuated by police officers to the Polri Kramat Jati Hospital for medical treatment.
Police arrest perpetrators of edged-weapon mobbing in North Jakarta
The North Jakarta Metro Police arrested two men suspected of involvement in a mobbing incident involving damage caused by sharp weapons and airsoft guns at a house on Jalan Lagoa Terusan Gang IV, Koja District, North Jakarta.
“The Criminal Investigation and Mobile Unit of the North Jakarta Metro Police, along with the Koja Police Criminal Investigation Team, arrested the two suspects, identified as AS (32) and FA (30), at Jalan Lagoa Gg III, Lagoa, on Monday (14/9),” said North Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Chief, AKBP Awaludin Kanur, in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Metro Jaya Regional Police uncover smuggling of 49.85 tonnes of illegal peanuts
The Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Metro Jaya Regional Police has uncovered an alleged illegal import of 49.85 tonnes of peanuts, equivalent to 1,536 sacks, which were ready for distribution within the DKI Jakarta area and its surroundings.
Metro Jaya Regional Police Special Criminal Investigation Director, Kombes Pol. Victor Dean Mackbon, stated that the food commodity is suspected to have originated from abroad and was smuggled via land routes after entering through Riau.
