- Two Dead in Accident on Batang-Semarang Toll Road
Two people were reported dead in an accident involving an Xpander car with licence plate B 2135 KZI and a PO 27 Trans bus on the Batang-Semarang Toll Road, KM 368 B, on Thursday.
The Head of Traffic Unit of Batang Police Resort, AKP Eka Hendra Ardiansyah, in Batang, said the accident occurred when traffic was busy with clear weather.
“The accident happened at KM 368, Lane B, one direction from Batang to Semarang, or precisely in Kedawung Village, Banyuputih Subdistrict,” he said.
- Polri Holds Ceremony for High-Ranking Officers’ Promotion
Polri held a ceremony for the promotion of high-ranking Polri officers on Thursday at the Rupatama Building, National Police Headquarters, Jakarta.
In the ceremony, 47 Polri personnel officially received promotions. One personnel was promoted to Commissioner General (Komjen) of Police, 14 personnel to Inspector General (Irjen) of Police, and 32 personnel to Brigadier General (Brigjen) of Police, including two personnel with extraordinary promotions (KPLB).

A police analyst from the Institute for Security and Strategic Studies (ISSES), Bambang Rukminto, stated that the National Police of the Republic of Indonesia (Polri) has successfully maintained order among road and toll users in a conducive manner during the Eid 2026 exodus.
“The police also deserve appreciation for carrying out preemptive and preventive efforts related to road and toll user order from the beginning, so that up to H-1 (one day before Eid) today, the situation is conducive,” he said when contacted by ANTARA in Jakarta on Thursday.
According to Bambang, this success can be seen from the various series of operations carried out by Polri in maintaining security and public order (kamtibmas), such as the 2026 Ketupat Operation.

The Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas), Irjen Pol Agus Suryonugroho, said that Polri has begun preparing for the regulation of the Eid 2026 return flow.
Agus Suryonugroho, when met at the KM 29 Cikampek Toll Command Centre Post, West Java, on Thursday early morning, said that they have prepared several strategies related to traffic regulation for the return flow.
“We already have strategies and scenarios for when the return flow from West Java happens; we will route them through functional tolls, including the one in Sukabumi which also has a functional toll,” he said.
