President arrives in Russia, strengthens partnership amid global dynamics President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto arrived at Vnukovo-2 Airport in Moscow, Russian Federation, on Monday (13/4) at 07.45 local time, to undertake a working visit to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. According to an official statement received in Jakarta on Monday, the Head of State’s visit marks Indonesia’s commitment to continuously strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing strategic cooperation with Russia. 2. Prabowo and Putin agree to enhance economic and energy cooperation Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to increase cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the fields of economy, energy, space, agriculture, industry, and pharmaceuticals. In the meeting between the two leaders in Moscow, Russia, on Monday (13/4), the President expressed appreciation for the Russian Government’s support for Indonesia, from the swift acceptance into BRICS to the rapid enhancement of cooperation in various fields. 3. DPR: SDI Bill designed to produce primary reference data for development The Legislation Body of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) revealed that the One Data Indonesia (SDI) Bill is designed to produce National Basic Data (DDN) as the primary reference for national and regional development planning. Chairman of the DPR RI Legislation Body Bob Hasan stated that SDI is truly based on integration, sovereignty, decentralisation, interoperability, recognition, and legal certainty in data management. “So, there will no longer be data management from just one basis; the basis will be integrated to produce something that truly has legal certainty,” said Bob during the SDI Bill drafting meeting. 4. Defence Ministry asserts Indonesian airspace authority remains under government control Head of the Defence Information Bureau of the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defence Brigadier General TNI Rico Ricardo Sirait emphasised that Indonesian airspace authority remains under government control. “The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Indonesia asserts that the authority, control, and supervision over Indonesian airspace are entirely under the Indonesian state,” said Rico in an official press release. 5. NasDem responds to merger issue with Gerindra Deputy General Chairman of the NasDem Party DPP Saan Mustopa responded to the rumour of his party’s merger with the Gerindra Party by stating that party mergers are a common occurrence in the national political landscape. “This is new to me too, I’m surprised, yeah, that the fusion issue has emerged. In political terms, it’s fusion, right, not merger. Not acquisition, [but] fusion, Gerindra-NasDem,” said Saan at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday (13/4).
