The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has officially imposed a time limit for the consumption of Free Nutritious Meals (MBG), stipulating that meals must be eaten no later than four hours after cooking. This measure is part of efforts to maintain food safety and quality for beneficiaries. Head of BGN Sudaryono, familiarly known as Mas Dar, urged all students and school authorities to jointly ensure that MBG meals are consumed within the designated time frame. “BGN has implemented food labels requiring consumption within four hours after the food is cooked. We urge students, learners, and also request teachers to check together before MBG meals are consumed,” Mas Dar stated in Jakarta on Tuesday.
A recipient of the Garuda Scholarship from South Tangerang, Imran, has successfully created a ‘Peatland Robot’, a prototype developed to detect fires beneath the soil surface and perform initial extinguishing. In a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday, Imran explained that the pipe-shaped robot is equipped with a number of sensors and a long-range communication system (LoRa) capable of sending data and activating a pump for initial suppression when fire indications are detected. “It started from junior high school, then in senior high school I studied Physics and Mathematics to deepen my knowledge of robotics, and here we are today,” he said.
The Ministry of Social Affairs is improving internal discipline across all its ranks, including screening ministry personnel indicated to be involved in online gambling practices. Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf, while giving directives to employees at the Aneka Bakti Building of the Ministry of Social Affairs in Jakarta on Tuesday, revealed that online gambling transaction practices have begun to affect his staff, based on an official report from the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK). “There are still those around us who lack discipline, some are still playing online gambling. This data clearly shows their names, how much they played, and some even played during office hours,” he said.
The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) is targeting the extinguishing of two remaining hotspots from the forest and land fires that have hit Mount Bromo in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) area this week. “Out of the previous total of 34 hotspots, two hotspots remain unextinguished. We are working to ensure these two hotspots are completely extinguished by Friday (14/8),” said Head of BNPB Lieutenant General TNI Suharyanto during an inspection of the wildfires on Mount Bromo, Probolinggo Regency, on Tuesday. The Head of BNPB accompanied Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno to monitor the impact and handling of the wildfires in the TNBTS area.
