Jakarta (ANTARA) - Various political events on Sunday (22/2) drew attention, ranging from GP Ansor’s assessment of Prabowo’s diplomacy at the Board of Peace towards a more peaceful world, to Barisan Merah Putih’s reminder that the security situation in Papua requires serious attention.

1. GP Ansor: Prabowo’s Diplomacy at the Board of Peace for a More Peaceful World
Chairman of Gerakan Pemuda Ansor (GP Ansor) Addin Jauharudin assessed that President Prabowo Subianto’s moves at the Board of Peace represent a calm yet firm strategy, positioning Indonesia as a “bridge” for dialogue in a divided world.
“The Board of Peace is a meeting space for world leaders and figures to discuss conflict resolution, global stability, and humanitarian solutions. In that forum, Indonesia came not with a loud voice, but with a clear message: peace must be fought for together,” said Addin in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday.
2. MKD: No Violations in Sahroni’s Reinstatement to Commission III
Chairman of the House of Representatives’ Ethics Council (MKD) Nazaruddin Dek Gam stated that there were no procedural violations in the reinstatement of Ahmad Sahroni as Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives.
He explained that Ahmad Sahroni had completed his sanctions and could therefore return to duty as a leader of Commission III. He affirmed that the entire process had been in accordance with applicable decisions.
“Ahmad Sahroni was deactivated by the NasDem Party on 31 August 2025,” said Nazaruddin in Jakarta on Sunday.
3. Ministry of Home Affairs Commends Yahukimo Regency’s Swift Action to Stabilise Security
Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Ribka Haluk commended the swift action taken by the Yahukimo Regency Government in Papua Pegunungan to maintain security stability whilst ensuring public services resumed.
“The Ministry of Home Affairs commends the Yahukimo Regent for taking swift measures in addressing a number of issues in Yahukimo, with support from all parties including the governor and the regional leadership coordination forum there,” said Ribka in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday.
4. Muzani: Indonesia Joins Board of Peace to Free Palestine from Israel’s Grip
Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Ahmad Muzani said that Indonesia’s participation in the Board of Peace is a progressive and concrete step in the nation’s effort to liberate Palestine from Israel’s grip.
He expressed gratitude that President Prabowo Subianto had the courage to engage in diplomacy on the matter, which he deemed a source of pride. According to him, this also represents a breakthrough in enhancing Indonesia’s reputation on the international stage.
“This is certainly an extraordinary diplomatic effort,” said Muzani when interviewed after attending an iftar gathering in Jakarta on Sunday.
5. Barisan Merah Putih: Papua Security Situation Requires Serious Attention
The Barisan Merah Putih Republik Indonesia (BMP RI) Raja Ampat chapter assessed that the security situation in Papua still requires serious attention from all parties, as it impacts the protection and safety of civilians.
BMP RI Raja Ampat Chairman Herman Dimara, in Waisai on Sunday, said that violent incidents in several conflict areas continue to occur and claim lives, including among civilians.
“Over a prolonged period, nearly every month, casualties continue to mount. Those who fall victim are civilians who do not understand the issues unfolding in Papua,” he said.
