Yesterday: 'Hari Merdeka' song released, earthquake-affected BTS restored

A number of musicians have presented a new arrangement of the patriotic song ‘Hari Merdeka’, including composer Erwin Gutawa, Shabrina Leanor, Ardhito Pramono, Novia Bachmid, Ruth Sahanaya, Harvey Malaihollo, Titik Hamzah, Vina Panduwinata, Judika, Ahmad Albar, and Rita Butar Butar.

The Cultural Preservation Centre of the Ministry of Culture is monitoring the condition of cultural assets such as cultural heritage sites and traditional houses after a 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck parts of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on Saturday.

The Ministry of Culture has added to the collection of the Museum of the Formulation of the Proclamation Text with a number of artefacts and memorabilia from national figures such as Indonesia’s first vice president Mohammad Hatta, also known as Bung Hatta.

Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid stated that 86 per cent of Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) affected by the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara have been restored, with the remainder still in the recovery process. According to government data as of Sunday at 18.00 WIB, 794 sites or BTS were identified as affected by the earthquake across 11 regencies and cities in NTT.
