The National Food Agency (Bapanas) announced that rice and cooking oil assistance programmes have commenced distribution to households registered as beneficiaries to ease their economic burden ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri.
“The rice and cooking oil assistance programme is confirmed to have begun distribution to low-income households,” said Rachmi Widiriani, Director of Distribution and Food Reserves at Bapanas, when confirmed in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Bahlil states Pertamina vessels to soon be freed from Arabian Gulf
Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia announced that negotiations to free two Pertamina cargo vessels trapped in the Arabian Gulf will be completed soon.
“There are two vessels, two cargoes. Those are still under negotiation, God willing it will be finished shortly. It will be finished shortly. Let’s pray, yes,” said Bahlil when met at the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry office in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Indonesia emphasises agricultural reform at WTO forum
Trade Minister Budi Santoso stated that Indonesia will discuss strengthening agricultural reform consolidation to be raised at the 14th WTO Ministerial Conference scheduled for 26-29 March 2026 in Cameroon.
Budi said the 14th Ministerial Conference should be utilised as an opportunity to revive WTO agricultural negotiations that have stalled in recent years.
