Yesterday: 2027 State Budget Draft to second phase of economic stimulus
President Prabowo Subianto has presented the basic macroeconomic assumptions for the 2027 Draft State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (RAPBN), targeting economic growth of 6 percent year-on-year (yoy) and an exchange rate of Rp17,500 per US dollar. “Economic growth in 2027 is targeted to reach 6 percent, higher than the 2026 State Budget target of 5.4 percent,” Prabowo said during the government’s introductory statement on the 2027 Budget Bill and its Financial Note in Jakarta on Friday.
A professor from IPB University has assessed that the Danantara Sovereign Wealth Fund (DSI) can serve as an instrument to improve Indonesia’s export governance. The academic noted that President Prabowo Subianto, in his 2026 State Address, clarified DSI’s role in enhancing transparency in export transactions, pricing, and proceeds, aiming to reduce leakages from practices such as under-invoicing and transfer pricing.
Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa stated that the possibility of introducing new taxes in the 2027 fiscal year would depend on the national economy achieving 6 percent growth consecutively.
Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM and CEO of the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara) Rosan Roeslani announced that the government is targeting investment realisation of Rp2,322 trillion in 2027. This target represents an increase of Rp280.7 trillion, or approximately 13.8 percent, compared to the 2026 target of Rp2,041.3 trillion, in line with the Government Work Plan (RKP).
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto revealed that the government is disbursing a second phase of economic stimulus worth Rp26.34 trillion. The package comprises tax incentives, apprenticeship and vocational programmes, and food assistance. “The second phase of stimulus amounts to Rp26.34 trillion, covering tax incentives, transportation, LPG fee waivers, apprenticeships, vocational training, and food aid,” Airlangga said during a press conference on the Financial Note and 2027 Draft State Budget at the Directorate General of Taxes headquarters in Jakarta on Friday.
