Yesterday, 2.8 Million Train Passengers and 283,000 Vehicles Headed to Jakarta
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Various economic events were reported by the ANTARA News Agency on Tuesday (24/3), ranging from KAI recording 2.8 million long-distance and local train customers to 283,000 vehicles recorded returning to Jakarta. PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) recorded 2,820,174 customers using Long-Distance and Local Trains during the period from 11 to 23 March, reflecting the high mobility of the public during the Eid transport period for 1447 Hijriah. “During the Eid transport period from 11 to 23 March 2026, KAI has served 2,378,680 Long-Distance Train customers and 441,494 Local Train customers, bringing the total to 2,820,174 customers on Java and Sumatra,” said KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk urged revellers to comply with the rules during the implementation of one-way traffic engineering and contraflow. Jasa Marga President Director Rivan A. Purwantono said the company has prepared various facilities and directions to support the safety of road users during the implementation of such traffic engineering.
PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) recorded 133,091 vehicles passing towards Jakarta through the Cikampek Main Toll Gate during the period from D-day to D+2 Eid al-Fitr (21-23 March 2026). This traffic volume increased significantly by 49.15 percent compared to normal traffic of 89,231 vehicles.
PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Branch in Tangerang, Banten, stated that passenger movement traffic from Saturday (14/3/2026) or H-7 to Tuesday or H+3 Eid 2026 reached 1,983,067 people. “Based on our records from the early homecoming period from 14 to 24 March 2026, we have served 1,983,067 passengers,” said General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Heru Karyadi to the media in Tangerang, Banten, on Tuesday.
Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi estimated that 283,000 reveller vehicles will return to Jakarta at the peak of the reverse flow of Eid 2026, expected to occur on Tuesday. “During this peak reverse flow, there should be no congestion like during the peak homecoming flow on 18 March,” said Dudy in Semarang on Tuesday.
