Yayasan Baitul Maal (YBM) PLN distributed gift packages to over 45,000 beneficiaries throughout Ramadan 1447 H. In the initial phase, this programme, reflecting the social responsibility commitment of PLN personnel towards society, distributed more than 23,000 gift packages simultaneously across 13 locations in various regions of Indonesia on Wednesday, 25 February 2026.

“We hope the gift packages distributed can bring happiness, strengthen motivation, and help the community observe Ramadan with greater peace and full hope,” said PLN General Director Darmawan Prasodjo whilst attending the YBM PLN Ramadan assistance distribution activity at the Masjid Institut Teknologi PLN, Jakarta. According to him, the programme under the theme “Cahaya Berkah Ramadan 1447 H” (Ramadan’s Blessed Light) forms part of PLN personnel’s commitment to continue delivering tangible benefits to society.

Specifically in the Jabodetabek region, gift packages were distributed simultaneously to more than 2,500 beneficiaries scattered across Kampung Deret Petogongan, South Jakarta; Masjid Institut PLN, West Jakarta; Yayasan Abdul Wahid Hasyim Masjid Al-Munawaroh, South Jakarta; Masjid Al-Akhbar, East Jakarta; Taman Baca Amalia, South Tangerang; as well as Masjid Jami As-Sofia, Bogor City; Masjid Al-Muhajirin, Bogor Regency; Masjid Al-Anwar, Depok; and Masjid Al-Hidayah, Bogor.

This programme originates from zakat contributions collected from Muslim PLN employees, managed in trust through YBM PLN to support social activities, religious programmes, and community empowerment. Through such management, zakat is not only distributed as social assistance but also directed to deliver sustainable benefits to beneficiaries.

According to YBM PLN General Chairman Sulistyo Biantoro, support gathered for this programme is not only distributed in the form of social assistance but also aimed at strengthening values of care and encouraging self-reliance of beneficiaries. “Ramadan becomes a moment for all of us to deliver genuine care through sharing actions that bring hope, strengthen social solidarity, and encourage community self-reliance,” he said.

This activity also involves the academic community as part of efforts to expand social impact whilst providing education to younger generations. This includes collaboration with Institut Teknologi PLN.

Rector of Institut Teknologi PLN, Iwa Garniwa, appreciated the collaboration by PLN Group through YBM PLN, which strengthens social care values within the campus environment while delivering direct benefits to society. He valued the sharing activity not merely as a ceremonial agenda but as a means to foster empathy, togetherness, and a spirit of sharing amongst others. “Ramadan teaches us that blessing is not measured only by what we possess, but by how much benefit we can provide to others,” said Iwa.
