Yaqut Arrives at KPK Wearing Orange Vest, Returns to Detention in Holding Facility

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Former Minister of Religious Affairs (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas arrived at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) building to resume detention in the holding facility (rutan) after previously being under house arrest status.

Based on observations by Kompas.com on Tuesday (24/3/2026), Yaqut arrived around 10:32 WIB.

Yaqut was seen immediately wearing a detainee vest.

“Alhamdulillah, I was able to pay my respects to my mother,” said Yaqut, as he was escorted into the KPK’s Merah Putih Building on Tuesday (24/3/2026).

A week earlier, precisely on Thursday (19/3/2026), his detention status was temporarily changed to house arrest upon the family’s request.

The KPK only announced the change on Saturday (21/3/2026), coinciding with the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah celebration.

Yaqut was then shifted back to holding facility detention as of Monday (23/3/2026).

After the change was announced, Yaqut was not immediately escorted to the KPK holding facility because he needed to undergo a health examination first.

It is known that Yaqut underwent his health check at Bhayangkara Polri Hospital, East Jakarta.
