YAPI Increases Scholarship Quota to 339 Packages to Prevent Students Dropping Out

The IPB Alumni Care Foundation (YAPI) has officially announced the list of scholarship recipients for the 2026/2027 academic year. YAPI increased the scholarship quota to 339 packages to prevent students from dropping out of university. The list of recipients was announced on Saturday (25/7/2026). YAPI Chairman Andi Irman explained that the foundation initially allocated only 200 scholarship packages. However, the high level of interest, with around 700 students applying, the majority of whom came from underprivileged families, prompted the increase. “It was difficult for us not to give them scholarships. There is a high possibility they would drop out or be forced to take a leave of absence without this assistance,” Andi Irman said in a statement on Monday (27/7/2026). In response, YAPI ultimately designated 339 students as recipients of educational assistance. The breakdown of the scholarships includes 185 Leader Mandiri Scholarships for new students of the 63rd cohort, 60 Prestatif Scholarships for students in semesters 3 to 6, 27 Activist Scholarships, and 67 Special Scholarships for final-year students in semesters 7 to 8. The policy to increase the recipient quota requires YAPI to quickly seek additional funding. Andi Irman acknowledged that the funds to cover all 339 scholarship packages are not yet fully available. Therefore, YAPI is opening opportunities for the public, alumni, and companies to contribute to advancing education in Indonesia. “To fulfil this commitment, we still need around 200 foster parents with a donation of Rp 5 million each, or a total of approximately Rp 1 billion,” Andi explained. He added that the foundation aims to raise the funds within the next month. Together with Vice Chairman Nelly Oswini and Secretary Fia Sufianti, the board will intensify various fundraising efforts. “We will seek funds through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes, corporate donations, and other fundraising activities. We ask for help and support from all parties,” he said.
