YAPI Increases Scholarship Quota to 339 Packages to Prevent Students Dropping Out
The IPB Alumni Care Foundation (YAPI) has officially announced the list of scholarship recipients for the 2026/2027 academic year. YAPI has increased the scholarship quota to 339 packages in order to prevent students from dropping out of university.
The list of scholarship recipients was announced on Saturday, 25 July 2026. YAPI Chairman Andi Irman explained that the foundation had initially only allocated 200 scholarship packages. However, enthusiasm was high, with around 700 students registering, the majority of whom come from pre-prosperous families.
“It would be difficult for us not to award them scholarships. There is a strong possibility they would withdraw or be forced to take a leave of absence from their studies if they do not receive this assistance,” said Andi Irman in his statement on Monday, 27 July 2026.
In response to this situation, YAPI ultimately designated 339 students as recipients of educational assistance. The breakdown of the scholarships disbursed includes:
185 Leader Mandiri Scholarship packages (earmarked for new students of the 63rd intake)
60 Prestasi (Achievement) Scholarship packages (for students in semesters 3-6)
27 Activist Scholarship packages
67 Special Scholarship packages (for final-year students in semesters 7-8)

Chasing a Rp 1 Billion Funding Target
The policy of increasing the number of recipients requires YAPI to move quickly to find additional funds. Andi Irman acknowledged that the funds to cover the full needs of the 339 scholarship packages are not yet entirely available.
Therefore, YAPI is opening up opportunities for members of the public, alumni, and companies wishing to contribute to advancing education in Indonesia.
“To fulfil this commitment, we still need around 200 foster parents with donations of Rp 5 million each, or a total requirement of approximately Rp 1 billion,” Andi explained.
Andi added that the foundation is targeting to raise the funds within the next month. Together with YAPI Vice Chairwoman Nelly Oswini and Secretary Fia Sufianti, the management will step up various fundraising efforts.
“We will seek funds through corporate social responsibility (CSR) disbursements or company donations, as well as various other fundraising activities. We ask for the help and support of all parties,” he said.
