Yamazaki grabs Kosaido Ladies title
JAKARTA: Japanese Momoyo Yamazaki won the 2002 Kosaido Indonesian Ladies Open after carding four-under par 140 at the Bali Handara Kosaido Country Club in Bedugul, Bali on Friday.
Yamazaki past Thursday's leader Michelle Fuller who could only score a disappointing three-over-par 75 on Friday for an aggregate of three-under-par 141.
Fuller shared the joint-second position with United States compatriot Kirsty S. Taylor and Japanese Kaori Suzuki.
Yamazaki walked away US$8,250 richer while Fuller, Taylor and Suzuki got $4,305 each, the organizer said in a statement sent to The Jakarta Post.
In the amateur pack, Indonesian Velink could only finish third after carding a 23-over-par 167. Sarah Henderson of Hong Kong grabbed the amateur title with an aggregate of 151 followed by South Korean Yun J. Jeong two shots back.
The Kosaido Indonesian Ladies Open was the fourth and final leg of the Kosaido Ladies Asia Golf Circuit.
The first leg was the Taiwan Open on Jan. 16-19 followed by the Thailand Open on Jan. 23-26 and the Malaysian Open on Jan. 30-Feb. 2. --JP
