Imam Muslimin, or Yai Mim, the suspect in a pornography case at Malang City Police, has passed away. Yai Mim, a former lecturer at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim (Maliki) Malang, died while about to undergo examination.

“Yes, it’s true, suspect Imam Muslimin has passed away,” said the Head of Public Relations at Malang City Police, Ipda Lukman Shobikin, when confirmed on Monday (13/4/2026), quoted from detikJatim.

Lukman stated that Yai Mim died around 1:45 PM WIB, just before being questioned. It is known that the pornography case was reported by a resident named Sahara.

Yai Mim is said to have suddenly collapsed while walking back to the criminal investigation room at Malang City Police. Officers reportedly took Yai Mim to the hospital.

“On the way, after collapsing, he was evacuated to the hospital and later found to have passed away,” he said.

As is known, Yai Mim held suspect status in the alleged pornography case and was detained on 20 January 2026. Several articles ensnared Yai Mim, leading to that status.

Yai Mim’s actions were deemed by investigators to fulfil the elements of Article 281 of the Criminal Code or Article 5 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 12 of 2022 on Sexual Violence Crimes (TPKS).

Or Article 4 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 44 of 2008 on Pornography junto Article 29 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 44 of 2008 on Pornography.
