Deputy Chairman of Commission IX of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Yahya Zaini, has firmly stated that he was not involved in procurement at the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). Yahya Zaini also declared that he was not involved in the management of free nutritious meal (MBG) kitchens. “Those are untrue allegations, or rather slander, because I was not involved in corruption at the BGN,” Yahya told reporters on Wednesday (10/6/2026). The Golkar Party legislator also stressed that he has no connection to the sale of MBG kitchen points. “I was not involved in procurement at the BGN and I was not involved in the sale of kitchen points. So where is the element of corruption?” he said. Previously, the lawyer for former Deputy Head of BGN Sony Sonjaya, Krisna Murti, stated that his client had given over 20 names suspected of involvement in MBG governance corruption to investigators at the Attorney General’s Office. The dozens of names were submitted in the official investigation report. “We have already submitted them to the investigators, more than 20 names are already in the investigation report. During the examination, when I was assisting Mr Sony, we documented them in the report,” Krisna told reporters on Wednesday (10/6/2026). Krisna mentioned that an application letter for justice collaborator status has been sent to the investigators. He hopes his client’s application will be accepted. “We submitted the letter yesterday, it has been signed, and I have handed it over to the Attorney General’s Office. We hope the Attorney General’s Office will grant the JC status, because it will make uncovering the larger event and further development of the investigation easier,” he said. He revealed that 26 names are suspected of involvement in the case, stating that this number represents only a portion of those implicated. “There are individuals, essentially from the executive, legislative, and judiciary. The legislative branch is the largest, with 26 names, and there is a possibility the number will increase. That is only a part of them,” he stated.
