YABN, Adaro, and PRSI Launch Robotics Programme for Primary Schools in Tabalong

Yayasan Amanah Bangun Negeri (YABN), PT Adaro Indonesia, and the Indonesian Robotics Association (PRSI) have launched the SIGMA Robotics Programme (Science & Innovation for the Advanced Generation of Banua and Indonesia) in Tabalong Regency. The initiative aims to expand access to robotics education and strengthen STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) literacy at the primary school level.

The launch was marked by a symbolic handover of robotics learning kits to representatives of 14 primary schools by YABN representative Zulfa Anita, CSR Section Head of PT Adaro Indonesia Aan Nurhadi, and PRSI’s Head of Partnership and Cooperation Department Riksa Rifqi Fuadi at the Tabalong Information Centre.

YABN Chairperson Zuraida Murdia Hamdie stated that STEM literacy at the primary level is a gateway to mastering higher-order thinking skills. ‘We hope this programme can spark interest in STEM learning through a robotics education model that is enjoyable, challenging, and relevant to the times,’ she said.

CSR Section Head of PT Adaro Indonesia Aan Nurhadi added that the programme is designed to build a learning ecosystem that encourages students to engage with technology in an applied manner. The initiative focuses on developing computational, critical, and creative thinking, as well as collaboration and problem-solving skills from an early age.

The programme commenced with a Training of Trainers (ToT) session for 28 teachers from the 14 selected schools, held from 20 to 24 July 2026. Following the training, the SIGMA Robotics Programme will be implemented as an extracurricular activity, targeting approximately 280 students from grades III to V during the 2026/2027 academic year.
