Xpeng launches GX SUV with a starting price of Rp727 million

Jakarta (ANTARA) - XPeng, the Chinese automaker, has officially launched its flagship full-size GX SUV in China, with a starting price of 279,800 yuan (approximately Rp727 million). According to Carnewschina on Wednesday, 20 May local time, the vehicle is offered in two powertrain options: battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV). The XPeng GX is positioned as a premium three-row SUV for six occupants targeting the upper segment of China’s new energy vehicle market. In dimensions, the GX measures 5,265 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, 1,800 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,115 mm. The exterior design features a boxy silhouette reminiscent of Range Rover. Internally, the SUV offers a six-seat configuration in a 2+2+2 arrangement. XPeng has also integrated Bosch’s latest generation steer-by-wire technology. This system supports autonomous driving Level 4 and is one of the GX’s standout features. The Xpeng GX EREV uses a 1.5-litre engine functioning as a generator, delivering power to the battery and electric motors. The configuration includes two electric motors with a combined peak output of 370 kW (496 hp). With a fully charged 63.3 kWh battery, the GX can travel up to 430 km in electric mode according to CLTC testing. With a 60-litre fuel tank, the GX is claimed to achieve up to 1,585 km in combined mode. By contrast, the base Xpeng GX EV version has a single rear-mounted electric motor producing 270 kW (362 hp). This motor is paired with a 91.9 kWh battery for a CLTC range of 665 km. A 110 kWh battery pack delivers power to the electric motor, sufficient for a 750 km range. The GX is sold in six variants in China. The cheapest variant, the Xpeng GX Max EV, is priced at 279,800 yuan (about Rp727 million). Next is the Xpeng GX Ultra SE EV at 289,800 yuan (about Rp753 million), while the Xpeng GX Max EREV starts at 299,800 yuan (about Rp779 million). For higher variants, the Xpeng GX Ultra SE EREV is offered at 309,800 yuan (about Rp805 million). The Xpeng GX Ultra EV is priced at 319,800 yuan (about Rp831 million). The top variant, the Xpeng GX Ultra EREV, is priced at 329,800 yuan (about Rp857 million).
