Xpeng Acquires Majority Stake in PT Era Industri Otomotif Owned by ERAL

PT Sinar Eka Selaras Tbk (ERAL), also known as Erajaya Active Lifestyle and part of the Erajaya Group (ERAA), is strengthening its electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing business through a partnership with Xpeng Indonesia.

According to information disclosure on Monday (15/05/2026), this collaboration involves a change in the ownership structure of its subsidiary specialising in EV manufacturing and assembly, PT Era Industri Otomotif (EIDO), which has a fully paid-up capital of Rp 171.001 billion. The change in ownership will be executed through the transfer of 154,072 shares, equivalent to a 90.1% stake in EIDO, from the company to Xpeng.

“This strategic agreement supports our expansion focus and brings smart mobility solutions closer to the Indonesian people,” explained Djohan in a statement received by Kontan on Monday (18/05/2026). He noted, however, that the full plan is currently awaiting administrative processes, including official regulatory approvals.

This change in ownership applies only to the manufacturing level via EIDO and does not encompass the entirety of Xpeng’s business operations in Indonesia. All distribution, sales, and after-sales services for Xpeng in Indonesia will continue to be managed by PT Era Inovasi Otomotif and PT Era Dealer Otomotif, which are other subsidiaries of ERAL.

Djohan assured that there will be no changes to product access, services, or the consumer experience, as all distribution and after-sales activities remain fully under the management of Erajaya Active Lifestyle. ERAL management emphasised that the strategic agreement regarding the shareholding in EIDO will not have any material impact on the company’s operational activities, legal standing, financial condition, or business continuity.
