Xiaomi, in the near term, will release its first clip-on earphone, and one feature detail revealed is its ability to be compatible with the Apple ecosystem. According to Gizmochina, on Wednesday (20/5) local time, the latest leak suggests that these open-ear earbuds will support Apple’s Find My network. This means users can locate the earphone case even from thousands of miles away using Apple devices. The feature is similar to that found with AirPods or other certified accessories. Xiaomi has also confirmed intelligent connectivity support on two devices for smartphones running both Android and iOS. Cross-platform compatibility could be highly meaningful for users who rotate between Android and Apple devices in daily use. The earphone itself follows a clip design that is becoming increasingly popular, no longer the in-ear style that was trendy in recent years. Each earbud is believed to weigh around 5.5 grams and uses a flexible memory titanium wire structure designed to sit gently in the ear without applying too much pressure during long listening sessions. For a satisfying audio experience, Xiaomi equipped the earbud with an 11mm driver with a microcrystalline-metal diaphragm and supports LHDC 5.0 and Hi-Res Audio certification. For calls, Xiaomi says it uses a three-microphone setup combined with a VPU sensor and AI-based noise reduction. Because open-ear earbuds inherently produce more sound leakage than closed-in-ear designs, Xiaomi also applies reverse acoustic wave technology to reduce audio leakage, which has been a focus in this category recently. In a Xiaomi livestream in early May, Xiaomi revealed that the device colour options include black, white, gold, with another colour yet to be disclosed. The official launch of Xiaomi’s first open-ear earphones is scheduled to take place today in China, alongside the Xiaomi 17 Max and Band 10 Pro.
