Xiaomi Watch S5 41mm Introduced as First Smartwatch Equipped with HyperOS 4
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Xiaomi has officially introduced its first smartwatch equipped with the HyperOS 4 operating system, the Xiaomi Watch S5 41mm.
The smartwatch brings several updates, including enhanced access to the WeChat instant messaging app, which now supports voice-to-text conversion to allow users to reply more quickly while on the move.
Reports from Ximitime on Friday (18/9) local time reveal that another significant upgrade is the integration of Xiaomi’s voice assistant, known as Super Xiao AI. This feature supports voice commands for various tasks and offers encyclopaedic Q&A capabilities directly from the wrist. The software enhancement aims to simplify user interaction without the need for a smartphone.
The software platform, HyperOS 4, is Xiaomi’s latest operating system designed to provide integration across various devices. Its presence in the Xiaomi Watch S5 41mm marks the first adaptation of this operating system for Xiaomi’s wearable devices.
Examining its specifications, the Xiaomi Watch S5 41mm features a classic design, weighing approximately 36 grams with a thickness of 0.99 centimetres. The watch boasts a polished white ceramic bezel with a diamond-cut knob, balancing elegance with functional durability.
Regarding health monitoring features, the watch offers accurate tracking of women’s physiological cycles and provides personalised exercise recommendations. Other health monitoring features include calorie intake management and UV exposure alerts.
In terms of battery life, the device promises up to 14 days of usage on a single charge.
Another highlight that makes this smartwatch attractive is its deep connectivity with Xiaomi’s automotive ecosystem. Xiaomi emphasised that the Watch S5 41mm offers close integration with Xiaomi car digital systems, although specific functions or controls have not yet been detailed.
However, the introduction of this feature demonstrates that Xiaomi is becoming increasingly serious about preparing further ecosystem synergy between its wearable products and its automotive ventures.
Xiaomi has opened early sales for the Xiaomi Watch S5 41mm via pre-orders in China starting 15 September 2026. The smartwatch is expected to debut alongside the Xiaomi 18 Pro smartphone series.
In addition to the watch, Xiaomi has also begun taking orders for the REDMI Buds 8S earbuds, which will be released on 22 September. It is not yet known whether the Xiaomi Watch S5 41mm will be released globally or remain limited to the Chinese market.
