Xiaomi to Unveil Vision Gran Turismo (GT) Concept at MWC
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chinese technology manufacturer Xiaomi is set to make another breakthrough in the automotive industry, unveiling its Vision Gran Turismo (GT) concept supercar at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, running from 2 to 5 March 2026.
According to CarnewsChina, the Vision GT features an exceptionally aerodynamic and wide design, complemented by a large carbon-fibre rear spoiler.
“Our philosophy is to achieve aerodynamic goals without relying on additional components. This philosophy requires us to adhere to the principle of ‘less is more,’ meaning that almost every design element must serve an aerodynamic function,” said Xiaomi’s head designer, Li Tianyuan, when describing the vehicle’s design.
To enhance the car’s sporty and aggressive appearance, Xiaomi has incorporated a front fascia splitter, T-shaped headlights, scissor doors, exposed wheel arches, and C-shaped rear lights that serve as Xiaomi’s design signature.
The project represents a special partnership with Sony PlayStation. The Vision Gran Turismo programme enables automotive brands to create “dream cars” without needing to comply with real-world cost or safety regulations.
The programme gives designers the freedom to imagine the ultimate racing machine. By introducing the car into the Gran Turismo game, Xiaomi can reach millions of young drivers worldwide.
Xiaomi already has a history in racing games. In June 2025, company founder Lei Jun announced that the SU7 Ultra would be added to Gran Turismo 7.
This was a significant milestone, as it marked the first time a Chinese-made vehicle appeared in the renowned racing game series. One month later, Xiaomi formally registered the name “Xiaomi Vision GT.”
