Jakarta (ANTARA) - Xiaomi’s latest generation SU7 is reported to be launching shortly with updates to its LiDAR technology and new platform.

According to reports from Carnewschina on Friday local time, all variants are now equipped with LiDAR and 4D millimetre-wave radar combined with a 700 TOPS computing platform.

Xiaomi claims the system is capable of maintaining detection capabilities in low-light conditions, fog, and with obscured objects.

Safety features now include nine airbags, increasing from seven in the previous generation, including new units on the rear flanks.

Structural improvements include hot-formed 2,200 MPa steel door beams and integrated protective frames.

The Standard and Pro versions use 752V architecture, whilst the Max version adopts the 897V system.

All variants use the V6s Plus motor.

Range claims reach 720 km for Standard, 902 km for Pro, and 835 km for Max. The Max version can add up to 670 km of range within 15 minutes using high-voltage rapid charging.

The Pro and Max variants are also equipped with dual-chamber air suspension and CDC dampers.

The sedan maintains its fastback silhouette but now features a new grille design with integrated millimetre-wave radar. The distinctive “water droplet” shaped headlights are retained, now with a high-beam range extending to 400 metres.

The vehicle uses 20-inch wheels with red brake calipers, and all versions employ a tyre configuration that differs between front and rear (245 mm front and 265 mm rear) with four-piston fixed calipers.

Semi-concealed door handles and black wing mirrors remain part of the family design language.

The rear features Xiaomi’s distinctive “halo” tail lights and an active spoiler.

Interior changes include a new dark-themed trim, redesigned secondary dashboard, and updated steering wheel.

Stitching patterns on doors and seats have also been refreshed.

Xiaomi stated that vehicle production has been accelerated with a target of 16,000 units by March.
