Xiaomi SU7 new version debuts on 19 March with improved power efficiency

Jakarta — Xiaomi has officially unveiled the latest version of its SU7 electric sedan, scheduled to launch on the market from 19 March 2026.

According to Arena EV on Monday, 16 March local time, the vehicle will be priced from 229,900 to 309,900 yuan, equivalent to approximately Rp561 million to Rp756 million, maintaining competitiveness in its segment.

One of the key improvements lies in its power efficiency system. The Standard and Pro variants now utilise a 752-volt system, whilst the top-tier Max variant is equipped with an 897-volt system, enabling better energy efficiency and faster charging.

Xiaomi claims the Max variant is capable of adding up to 670 kilometres of driving range in just 15 minutes of charging. This improvement is aimed at reducing waiting times for users when charging their vehicles.

All variants now use the same V6S Plus electric motor, which is said to offer better performance compared to the previous generation. Standardising this component can also improve production efficiency.

As a technology-based company, Xiaomi has also strengthened the software aspects of this vehicle. The SU7 is equipped with a computing system capable of performing up to 700 trillion operations per second to support Xiaomi’s HAD software-based driving assistant features.

The latest version of the SU7 does not feature significant design changes. Xiaomi has maintained the sleek exterior appearance but now offers nine colour options. Inside, the centre console has been updated with a more ergonomic button layout.

Xiaomi noted that SU7 sales declined in February 2026, with only 218 units sold. However, this was attributed to production line adjustments in preparation for the new model launch. With the arrival of this updated version, Xiaomi is optimistic that sales will increase again in the near future.
