Xiaomi Launches Redmi Watch 6 Active and 6 Lite in Indonesia
Xiaomi has officially strengthened its wearable ecosystem line in the Indonesian market by introducing two of its latest smartwatch devices, namely the Redmi Watch 6 Active and the Redmi Watch 6 Lite. The arrival of these two devices represents a strategic move by Xiaomi to support the productivity and healthy lifestyles of local consumers through affordable yet functional technology.
Both smartwatches are designed to meet the needs of different user segments. The Active variant is aimed at casual users who prioritise daily connectivity, while the Lite variant targets sports enthusiasts who require more in-depth outdoor activity tracking accuracy.
“This is the Redmi Watch 6 Active, a smart companion to support all your daily activities with the spirit of ‘Stay Active, Stay Connected’,” said Karina Amalia from the Xiaomi AIoT Ecosystem, during a press conference held in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The Redmi Watch 6 Active is positioned as a device to support daily activities, highlighting battery efficiency and screen visuals. The device features a 1.85-inch LCD screen that provides a wide field of view for users.
One of the main selling points of the Active variant is its battery life, which is claimed to last up to 18 days on a single charge. To support use in various conditions, the watch has also obtained IP68 certification, ensuring resistance to water and dust.
In addition to sports features, the Redmi Watch 6 Active is also equipped with Bluetooth Calling support. This feature allows users to receive and make phone calls directly from their wrists without having to take their phones out of their pockets. In the Indonesian market, the Redmi Watch 6 Active is priced at Rp599,000.
For users who require more specific activity data, the Redmi Watch 6 Lite is available as a more capable option. Unlike the Active variant, the Lite model excels in more accurate outdoor activity tracking systems.
The most significant differentiating feature is the presence of integrated GPS tracking. With this feature, users can track running or cycling routes independently without relying on a smartphone’s GPS connection. Additionally, this variant is equipped with advanced health tracking for more comprehensive health monitoring.
In terms of design, the Redmi Watch 6 Lite offers a more premium appearance with a 1.96-inch AMOLED screen and a slimmer body with a thickness of only 9.9mm. Like its sibling, this variant also supports Bluetooth Calling. However, it should be noted that its battery life stands at 18 hours for certain intensive uses. The Redmi Watch 6 Lite is marketed at a price of Rp899,000.
