Xiaomi Launches Redmi Pad 2 Pro Learning Edition, a Child-Specific Tablet with "AI Teacher"
Xiaomi has officially launched a new variant of the Redmi Pad 2 Pro tablet, namely the Redmi Pad 2 Pro Learning Edition, in China on Wednesday (22/4/2026). This tablet is a derivative of the Redmi Pad 2 Pro, which debuted in September 2025. The difference is that this version is positioned for users in the student segment. As a tablet specifically aimed at students, the Xiaomi Redmi Pad 2 Pro Learning Edition is equipped with several additional features not available in the regular version. These features include artificial intelligence (AI)-based technology, such as the “AI Teacher” that can interact in real-time with the user. Through this feature, users can ask questions and receive immediate explanations during the learning process. The AI system is said to work by automatically analysing answers, then providing feedback and indicating which parts need improvement. Because it is positioned as a student-specific tablet, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro Learning Edition also comes with a three-year subscription to the Xiaomi Education Center. This service provides access to textbooks, over 150,000 learning materials, and structured study plans. What most distinguishes the regular Redmi Pad 2 Pro from the Learning Edition lies in its sales package. For the Learning Edition, Xiaomi includes additional accessories in the form of a stylus (digital pen) and a protective case (rugged case) in one purchase package. This case is equipped with a latch, stylus storage compartment, and a foldable cover that can function as a device stand. The Redmi Pad 2 Pro Learning Edition has the same internals as the standard Redmi Pad 2 Pro. The tablet features a 12.1-inch screen with 2.5K resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of up to 600 nits. Its screen is coated with matte glass to reduce light reflection. These specifications are claimed to provide eye comfort when the tablet is used in long learning sessions.
