Xiaomi launches first beta version of HyperOS 4

Xiaomi has introduced the first beta version of the HyperOS 4 operating system, which currently supports the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Xiaomi 17, and the Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi.

According to a report by GSM Arena on Tuesday (15/9), access to the first HyperOS 4 beta version will also be available from 17 September 2026 for the Xiaomi 17T Pro, Xiaomi 17T, Xiaomi 15 Ultra, and Xiaomi 15.

Ximitime reported on Tuesday (15/9) that HyperOS 4 largely offers visual changes, deeper ecosystem integration, and advanced artificial intelligence (AI) features for Xiaomi’s high-end smartphones.

Key features of HyperOS 4 include the Soft Light Glass UI, a new interface presenting blurred transparency, layered visual depth, realistic light refraction, quick settings, and widgets.

The full rendering of the soft light glass effects is optimised for high-end processors such as the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

With the support of Xiaomi’s MiMo AI model, the update introduces a new AI assistant interface, real-time voice translation, more structured audio-to-text transcription, and improved intelligent meeting summaries in AI Notes, which can transform discussion recordings into actionable task details.

HyperOS 4 is also equipped with intelligent input and writing tools. Xiaomi’s built-in keyboard features an enhanced AI toolbar, offering automatic text refinement, contextual writing assistance, and personalised text rewriting.

Xiaomi’s latest operating system can also clean up legacy code frameworks and implement performance enhancements, such as programming system applications with Rust.

This step can reduce memory consumption while simultaneously improving overall system smoothness and battery management efficiency.
