Jakarta (ANTARA) - Xiaomi is reportedly developing a high-end Ultra model phone that will be powered by its own chip, the Xring O3. According to Gizmochina on Tuesday (5/5) local time, this chip may debut this year, continuing the success of the Xring O1 chip released last year. The leak regarding Xiaomi’s plans to develop an Ultra model with its latest in-house chip comes from technology leaker Yogesh Brar. This new Ultra model powered by the Xring O3 is reportedly a separate product from the 18 Ultra, raising questions about its position in Xiaomi’s flagship lineup. Additionally, there is speculation that the device may remain limited to the Chinese market, with no plans for a global launch at this stage. This new information complements previous rumours about the Xring O3. So far, it is known that the Xring O3 will feature a simpler yet more powerful architecture. It is also estimated that this chip will switch to an octa-core design, abandoning the previous 10-core design. The GPU is also expected to improve, approaching a frequency of 1.5 GHz. Memory speed may remain unchanged at 9600 MT/s. Overall, these changes are likely aimed at improving multitasking experience, background processing, and sustained performance efficiency across various heavy workloads. In addition to being rumoured to appear in the still mysterious Ultra model phone, this chip is also expected to debut in Xiaomi’s latest generation foldable phone. However, all rumours regarding its debut will be revealed when the official product is released.
