Jakarta (ANTARA) - Xiaomi Indonesia launched the Xiaomi 17T Series mobile phones on Tuesday, featuring advanced photography capabilities resulting from a collaboration between the company and the German camera and lens manufacturer, Leica.

“The Xiaomi 17T Series presents the latest generational improvements in camera, technology, and design. For the first time, Xiaomi is delivering a comprehensive, large-scale upgrade,” said Andi Renreng, Marketing Director of Xiaomi Indonesia, during the launch event in Jakarta.

The Xiaomi 17T Series consists of the Xiaomi 17T Pro and the Xiaomi 17T.

As the flagship model, the Xiaomi 17T Pro is equipped with a triple rear camera setup, featuring a 50-megapixel main camera using a 1/1.31-inch sensor. This camera is paired with Leica UltraPure optical lenses and a Leica Summilux 1G+6P hybrid lens structure to produce photos with superior detail and colour.

Additionally, it features a Leica 5x Telephoto camera supported by Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), allowing users to capture 50-megapixel photos across various focal lengths. This feature supports macro photography from up to 30 centimetres, 10x optical equivalent zoom, and 120x AI Ultra Zoom.

For video production, the Xiaomi 17T Pro supports cinematic video recording at up to 4K resolution at 60 frames per second. The device also includes Ultra-HD Live Moment 4K and smoother zoom effects via Freestyle and Portrait modes.

Similar to the Pro variant, the standard Xiaomi 17T also features a Leica 5x Telephoto camera with OIS for high-quality photography. The Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro are the first in the Xiaomi T series to utilise Leica 5x Telephoto technology across all models.

Xiaomi also introduced a new feature called Leica Live Moment, which allows users to capture lifelike photos with Leica’s signature colour character and aesthetics. This feature can be used across all rear camera focal lengths, including Portrait mode for natural bokeh effects. Xiaomi also provides specialised Leica Live Moment watermarks and collage templates to facilitate easy sharing on social media.

Furthermore, the Xiaomi 17T Series includes a Stage Mode, specifically designed for capturing photos and videos at concerts or stage performances, even in challenging lighting conditions. The Xiaomi Vision Care technology on the display is designed to maintain eye comfort by automatically adjusting lighting and reducing exposure to blue light, flicker, and motion blur.

The Xiaomi 17T Pro screen can reach a brightness level of up to 3,500 nits, ensuring visibility under direct sunlight, while dropping to as low as 1 nit for low-light use. The Xiaomi 17T features an AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution and Xiaomi Vision Care technology, though its refresh rate is 120 Hz, lower than the Pro model.

Both models feature a symmetrical 1.29 mm thin bezel design to provide a wider visual field. The chipset is expected to deliver significant improvements in CPU, GPU, and AI processing performance. The standard Xiaomi 17T relies on the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset, built on a 4-nanometer manufacturing process.

Performance is further supported by the Xiaomi 3D IceLoop System, designed to accelerate heat dissipation from the chipset, ensuring the device remains comfortable during heavy applications or gaming.

The Xiaomi 17T Pro is equipped with a 7,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery supporting 100W HyperCharge wired and 50W HyperCharge wireless technology. According to the company, this is the largest battery ever used in a Xiaomi phone for the global market. The Xiaomi 17T features a 6,500 mAh silicon-carbon battery, an 18 per cent increase over the previous generation, with 67W HyperCharge support.

Both models are compatible with third-party chargers, supporting 100W and 50W PPS respectively.

The Xiaomi 17T Pro is available in Deep Blue, Deep Violet, and Black, while the Xiaomi 17T comes in Violet, Opal White, and Black. The Xiaomi 17T Pro is priced at Rp11,999,000 for the 12GB/256GB variant and Rp12,999,000 for the 12GB/512GB variant. The Xiaomi 17T is priced at Rp8,999,000 for the 12GB/256GB variant and Rp9,999,000 for the 12GB/512GB variant.
