Xiaomi 17 Max claimed to last over 33 hours of continuous use

Xiaomi has showcased the advantages of the Xiaomi 17 Max ahead of its launch event, demonstrating that the new smartphone can last for 33.3 hours with continuous screen-on time during streaming endurance tests. According to a report by Gizmochina on Tuesday (19/5), video test results uploaded by Xiaomi to Weibo indicate that the battery life of the Xiaomi 17 Max surpasses the combined capacity of two iPhone 17 Pro Max units under identical conditions.

While endurance tests conducted by manufacturers should be approached with caution due to the potential for exaggerated demonstrations, the battery results for the Xiaomi 17 Max appear extraordinary even when accounting for such marketing efforts. This is largely because the Xiaomi 17 Max is the first Xiaomi handset equipped with an 8,000mAh battery, which is considered exceptionally large for a flagship device. If the company successfully integrates such a large battery without making the phone excessively heavy or bulky, the Xiaomi 17 Max could become a standout product among premium Android smartphones in the Chinese and European markets in 2026.

The smartphone is equipped with a large 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, and a 200 MP camera sensor tuned with Leica. The manufacturer has also included support for 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. The Xiaomi 17 Max is scheduled for release on 21 May 2026 in China. During the launch event, Xiaomi is also expected to introduce other products, such as the Xiaomi Band 10 Pro, new clip-on earphones, and the YU7 GT electric SUV.
