Xi Jinping Offers 'China Solution' for the World

Chinese President Xi Jinping has signalled Beijing’s ambition to expand its influence on the global stage by offering ‘Chinese wisdom’ and solutions as an alternative for developing countries. Speaking at an event marking the 105th anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Xi asserted that his country is ready to provide its experience to address major challenges facing humanity. ‘We advocate building a community with a shared future for mankind, providing Chinese wisdom, Chinese solutions, and Chinese strength to solve the major problems confronting humanity,’ Xi said. He argued that China’s success in achieving industrialisation within just a few decades proves that the country has experience that can serve as a reference for developing nations. Xi’s remarks come amid intensifying rivalry between Beijing and the United States, with China frequently criticising the international system as being dominated by the US and Western nations. However, Xi stressed that Beijing does not seek to replace the existing global order but rather to push for reforms so that the system better reflects the interests of developing countries. He noted that the world has entered a new period of turmoil and transformation, placing humanity at a crossroads, and called for new international relations to promote global peace and development. The speech also reflected Beijing’s growing confidence after sustaining its economic development pace while increasing its diplomatic influence across various regions. On domestic issues, Xi highlighted the need to accelerate the modernisation of China’s military to world-class standards, insisting that the leadership of the Communist Party must remain the foundation of the armed forces. He also reaffirmed Beijing’s objective to bring Taiwan under its control, reiterating themes from his speech at the CPC’s 100th anniversary in 2021 and underscoring that sovereignty and military strengthening remain top priorities of his leadership.
