Kuala Lumpur (ANTARA) - The China-Malaysia Readers’ Forum, which discussed the fifth volume of the English edition of the book “Xi Jinping: The Governance of China,” was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Thursday (30/4). Participants at the forum stated that this fifth volume depicts the experiences of development and the philosophy of governance that represent Eastern wisdom. Against the backdrop of constantly changing geopolitical dynamics and profound changes in the global governance system, participants opined that in-depth exchanges on governance through the dissemination of this book between Malaysia and China hold significant meaning in strengthening mutual trust and mutually beneficial cooperation, as well as advancing the building of a high-level strategic community between China and Malaysia with a shared future. In his remarks, Johari Abdul, Chairman of the Malaysian House of Representatives, said the book helps various sectors in Malaysia to better understand China’s development philosophy and governance practices. “The five volumes of the book ‘Xi Jinping: The Governance of China’ demonstrate efforts to expound on the philosophy of governance, which seeks to explain how a nation understands its development, its priorities, and its role in the world. This book provides insights into how these ideas are framed and communicated,” said Johari. Meanwhile, Malaysian Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook stated that the important discussions in the fifth volume on high-quality development, high-level openness, and high-quality Belt and Road cooperation provide crucial insights for deepening Malaysia-China connectivity. He added that in recent years, the two countries have achieved beneficial results in high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. Ian Neo Chee Hua, CEO of the Southeast Asia Humanities Research Centre in Malaysia, said the book contains a rich political philosophy that guides China’s economic and social development as well as its relations with the world, laying an important foundation for strengthening sustainable Malaysia-China cooperation. Along with the progress in implementing the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and the development of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area (CAFTA) 3.0, China-Malaysia relations are entering a new stage of coordinated development, with broad prospects for cooperation in trade, investment, digital economy, and green development, said Chee Hua. At the forum, Chinese representatives presented copies of the English edition of the fifth volume of the book to foreign guests. Experts and scholars engaged in in-depth exchanges on various topics, including national governance, China-ASEAN regional cooperation, and the China-Malaysia community with a shared future. The forum was jointly organised by the Information Office of the State Council of China, the China International Communications Group, and the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia. Around 200 participants from the publishing, think tank, and media sectors from both countries attended the event.
