Xi Jinping and Putin Congratulate Prabowo on Indonesia's 81st Independence Day, Send These Messages
Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin have sent congratulatory messages on the occasion of Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day. Both leaders also conveyed messages of condolence for the earthquake that struck East Nusa Tenggara.
Citing Xinhua on Tuesday, President Xi Jinping conveyed his congratulations to President Prabowo Subianto on Monday. Xi said that under Prabowo’s leadership, Indonesia continues to move forward towards the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision and has recorded various new achievements in economic and social development.
On the same occasion, he also congratulated Indonesia on joining as a founding member of the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization (WAICO). This is an international intergovernmental organisation established to strengthen global AI cooperation and governance.
Xi said he attaches great importance to the development of China-Indonesia relations and is ready to work with Prabowo to direct ministries, agencies and local governments of both countries. ‘In order to implement the agreements reached by both parties,’ the government website stated.
Xi also committed to strengthening strategic mutual trust, deepening mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, and further enhancing the regional and global influence of the China-Indonesia community with a shared future. According to him, such steps will provide greater benefits for the peoples of both countries.
Separately, Xi also conveyed his condolences to Prabowo over the strong earthquake that recently struck Indonesia. He stated that under Prabowo’s leadership, the Indonesian people are believed to be able to overcome the disaster and quickly rebuild their homes and lives.
Putin expressed similar sentiments. In his congratulations on Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day, he said relations between Moscow and Jakarta are developing very well, and both countries continue to maintain cooperation.
‘Dear Mr President, please accept my sincere congratulations on the national day, the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia. Relations between Moscow and Jakarta are developing very well, as reflected in the various productive contacts between the two countries,’ Putin stressed.
He said constructive cooperation will continue to be built and even strengthened through mutually beneficial partnership relations.
‘Both bilaterally and within the framework of BRICS, the Russia-ASEAN dialogue, as well as various other international organisations,’ Putin said, as published on the Sputnik website.
