Xi Jinping and Kim Jong Un's Rare Lavish State Dinner
Chinese President Xi Jinping attended a banquet hosted by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un at the Mokran Hall in Pyongyang on Monday local time. The dinner was part of Xi Jinping’s state visit agenda in Pyongyang. During the meeting, Xi Jinping and Kim Jong Un agreed to expand cooperation between the two countries in various sectors. Both leaders agreed to develop bilateral relations to a new chapter, according to KCNA. Kim told Xi he would fully support the ‘One China’ principle, which Beijing says means that both sides of the Taiwan Strait belong to one country, regardless of how the international situation changes. Xi, making his first visit to North Korea in seven years, told Kim he would use the visit as an opportunity to make significant progress in bilateral relations.
