Xuzhou, China (ANTARA/PRNewswire) – XCMG Machinery (SHE: 000425) is expanding the deployment of flight logistics solutions based on an ‘autonomous system + sustainable energy’, leveraging its expertise in intelligent equipment and global logistics services. The solution was recently implemented at Nanjing Lukou International Airport to improve cargo handling efficiency, reduce operating costs, and support a transition toward smarter, lower-emission operations.

Focusing on key airport needs such as goods flow efficiency, emission reductions, and operational reliability, XCMG is building an intelligent logistics system that integrates autonomous technology, renewable energy systems, and digital control systems. XCMG provides an integrated cargo handling solution based on international air logistics standards, from unloading, warehousing, sorting, to distribution and transfer of goods.

The solution relies on Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) supported by electric counterbalanced forklifts, warehouse forklifts, and straddle carriers for various operational needs. The XCMG AGVs feature a multisensor positioning system that combines LiDAR, visual, and ultrasonic technologies, enabling cargo position accuracy below 10 millimetres. The system is integrated with XCMG’s Hanyun intelligent logistics platform, which supports automatic and optimal task scheduling. All XCMG equipment meets international standards for environment and occupational safety, enabling emission-free, sustainable operations.

To support global expansion, XCMG is developing an integrated service system that covers technology development, business collaboration, and after-sales service. XCMG also provides customer-specific solutions, technical support throughout the lifecycle, and flexible collaboration models such as energy storage, battery swapping, and equipment rental. All services are backed by a 24-hour daily service system to ensure cross-border operations run smoothly.

Since deployment, the solution has achieved up to 40% annual labour cost savings in airport cargo handling, an 80% reduction in cargo damage, and kept the inbound cargo flow error rate below 0.1%. Overall, cargo flow efficiency improved by up to 40%.

A cargo operator at Nanjing Lukou International Airport said, ‘XCMG’s solution meets international air cargo logistics standards. The autonomous technology, the environmentally friendly equipment portfolio, and XCMG’s global service capabilities also enhance cross-border cargo transfer efficiency and the airport’s service quality, while supporting the airport’s integration with the global aviation logistics network.’

Currently, the solution is deployed at several major logistics hubs, including Shanghai Pudong International Airport, Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. XCMG continues to expand implementation to Southeast Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

In the midst of a global trend toward smarter, lower-emission air logistics, XCMG will continue refining technology-based solutions and its global service network to deliver increasingly efficient services and meet the needs of cross-border logistics operators in various regions worldwide.
