XCMG Expands Global Vocational Education Programme to Develop Future Talent
Xuzhou, China (ANTARA/PRNewswire) — Coinciding with World Youth Skills Day 2026, which carries the theme “Skills for a Shared Future”, XCMG Group continues to strengthen its vocational education system in global markets. Through structured training programmes, competency certification and career development, XCMG aims to meet local workforce needs and support improvements in service quality across numerous countries.
At the end of June, XCMG held the Fifth XCMG Cup Construction Machinery Maintenance Skills Competition, which took place alongside the Belt and Road Machinery Industry Skills Competition. For the first time, the competition was also staged outside China, specifically in Thailand, Uzbekistan and Indonesia. The event brought together 150 participants from China and 62 participants from various other countries. Beyond serving as a showcase for technical ability, the competition also encouraged knowledge exchange, improvements in service competency, and collaboration between the education sector and industry across multiple markets.
The competition marked the first overseas deployment of XCMG’s global “1+3+X” certification system. XCMG also introduced a dual certification mechanism through a single examination, an approach described as a breakthrough for the industry. Under this scheme, participants can obtain both the Junior-level Machinery Industry Vocational Competency Certificate and the XCMG Global Service Engineer Skill Level Certificate at once.
The programme forms part of XCMG’s efforts to expand vocational education and technical training tailored to local market needs. To date, XCMG’s education and training programmes have reached more than 50 countries, trained over 3,000 skilled workers, issued 158 international certificates, and developed more than 20 training programmes involving partners across various regions.
Strengthening local talent development and competency certification to raise service standards in Indonesia and Uzbekistan
On 26 May 2026, XCMG inaugurated the Global Service Engineer Certification Station (Indonesia) and the Craftsman Academy (Indonesia Branch). The establishment of these two facilities marks the company’s latest step in building a local talent development system in Southeast Asia.
The Global Service Engineer Certification Station (Indonesia) focuses on competency assessment, skills certification and capability enhancement for local service technicians. The evaluation process covers theoretical mastery, problem-solving ability, equipment operation and testing, as well as overall workplace competency. Participants who meet the standards receive skills certificates that are valid globally.
Meanwhile, the Craftsman Academy (Indonesia Branch) provides routine training for new employees, competency improvement programmes for existing staff, and various industry-education collaboration activities. Its curriculum is based on operational needs and heavy equipment maintenance scenarios in the local market, creating a continuous development pathway from basic level through to professional technician. The two platforms combine competency development with a standardised certification system to strengthen service quality in the local market.

The talent development model was subsequently extended to Uzbekistan on 20 June 2026. The move forms part of XCMG’s transformation towards building a global service system that focuses not only on exporting products, but also on exporting standards, systems and expertise, while supporting the growth of the heavy machinery industry in Central Asia.
Opening career opportunities for young people in Brazil
In Brazil, XCMG has also developed career pathways for young people through various internship programmes. More than 80 young professionals currently work across divisions of XCMG Brazil, from manufacturing, research and development, and marketing to after-sales service.
The company has also established long-term partnerships with the educational institution Instituto Federal (IF) and the vocational education network SENAI. Through a combination of classroom learning and hands-on field practice, participants acquire skills relevant to industry needs and gain an understanding of developments in the heavy equipment sector and company operations.
In addition, XCMG runs an international skills development programme offering Brazil’s best young technicians the opportunity to undertake six months of specialised training in China. The programme covers equipment operation, maintenance and comprehensive technical services. Through these initiatives, XCMG is not only improving the quality of human resources in the heavy machinery and mining sectors, but also building a sustainable local talent ecosystem. These efforts are expected to support industry development and equip skilled workers to meet future needs.
