X users without a blue verification badge are limited to 50 posts per day

Jakarta (ANTARA) - X is increasingly taking steps to push users toward subscribing to obtain the blue verification badge, with one measure restricting users who do not have the blue badge to just 50 posts per day. Not only that, unverified users without the blue tick can also reply to messages at most 200 times per day. Engadget reported on Monday 18 May local time that the posting restriction was discovered by users via X’s Help Centre page. The page explains that account holders on X are restricted to ‘50 original posts and 200 replies per day for unverified accounts.’ This limit is far lower than the previous policy that restricted users to around 2,400 posts per day. X will inform users when they reach the new limits and which limits they have hit via notifications. This may be a new move by X to reduce spam and bot activity on the platform. It reinforces earlier measures taken by X, such as introducing a feature that reveals user profile information in October 2025. While seemingly positive, for users who enjoy posting, this cap on posts will not be welcome. There is also potential for many users to switch to other platforms with no such restrictions. Those who feel they need X services with more than 50 posts per day may need to subscribe to a premium account. The most basic subscription package currently starts from USD 3 per month or USD 32 per year (roughly Rp 53,000 per month and Rp 567,000 per year).
