Elon Musk’s companies, X Corp and SpaceXAI, have filed a motion to withdraw their lawsuit against Apple in a United States federal court.

According to a report from Engadget on Monday (14/9) local time, the lawsuit has been resolved in a federal court in Texas. However, the reasons behind the termination of the case remain unknown, including whether the two parties have reached a specific settlement.

Last year, X Corp and SpaceXAI filed the lawsuit alleging that Apple had violated antitrust regulations. The dispute between the technology firms concerned the integration of ChatGPT features into Apple Intelligence, which was viewed as providing an advantage to OpenAI while hindering competition from other services, including X and xAI.

Elon Musk’s companies previously argued that Apple’s exclusive cooperation with OpenAI caused the X and Grok applications to receive less visibility on the App Store. Meanwhile, several AI applications competing with OpenAI, such as DeepSeek and Perplexity, had previously occupied top positions on the App Store charts.

OpenAI was also named in the lawsuit. Although the case against Apple has been dropped, X Corp and SpaceXAI are reportedly still planning to pursue their claims against OpenAI.

Aside from the matter involving Apple, SpaceXAI is also facing another lawsuit related to Grok. The company is accused of failing to prevent the misuse of the chatbot to generate thousands of images containing child sexual exploitation and the creation of non-consensual deepfake explicit imagery. This case is currently being investigated by authorities in California.
