Wynne left cold by bashful beau

JAKARTA (JP): When a player wins, she expects congratulations from her family and friends and especially from her boyfriend.

But love moves in mysterious ways and it was a case of no such luck yesterday for Indonesia's first tennis singles player, Wynne Prakusya.

After beating Marisue Jacutin of the Philippines, Wynne was congratulated by team manager Benny Mailili and many other friends. Most of them shook her hand and kissed her cheeks.

But boyfriend Suwandi, clearly embarrassed by the situation, refused to kiss her, saying: "If I want to kiss you, I'll do it somewhere else."

Despite his friends urging to do so, Suwandi stood firm and left Wynne standing.

Wynne, clearly disappointed, grumbled: "I have just won and all my friends kissed me but Suwandi doesn't want to. He's just too much." (yan)
